Promoting Science Education
STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) fields are better able to advance when all people feel like they can participate. Members of the Jarchow Lab are active in science education events, especially for girls. Annually Meghann Jarchow participates in the Women in Science event for seventh grade girls at Mount Marty College and the middle and high school South Dakota Science Olympiad at USD. Meghann and her students also participate in local Girl Scout STE(A)M events and the Sanford It’s All About Science Festival in Sioux Falls.
